On the 16th April, the Lockyer Valley community of Gatton and visitors from around Australia, have come together in strength to say their final farewell to our father Terry Nolan, Transport Industry stalwart and local trucking industry legend.
We the family, are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our father who passed away with family present on Wednesday morning 9th April. Whilst Terry was battling with cancer for more than 7 years, we feel very blessed that we have had these extra years to spend this time with him, he spent very little time in hospital and had a refusal to accept that the illness would take over one day. He even had the opportunity to arrange his final fishing adventure; sadly he never got the opportunity to dip his line, but we know if he was still here with us he would say “Those Barramundi live to swim another day” !
Our father was definitely a larger than life character, however very much a silent achiever, those that knew him, knew that everything Terry planned in his life was “Big” and we have to say that even in his passing, the plans for his funeral were just that “Big”. The family cannot thank the numerous people that have gone out of their way to assist and help with preparations, special mention to Lockyer Valley Mayor Steve Jones and the Gatton Regional Council who assisted us in so many ways, we are truly thankful and our gratitude goes out to you.
To Our friends and customers, we would also like to make mention of the fact that you have all in some way give the “Nolan” family the strength to continue on with business as usual.
To our staff, my father was enormously proud of our all of our staff and the fact that they all in some way contribute to the success of Nolan’s Interstate Transport, the message to our staff is every time you pull on a uniform with the Nolan’s Logo, wear it with pride.
We are truly humbled by the numerous letters, gifts, flowers and donations to the “Icon Cancer Foundation”. The Icon Cancer Foundation do an amazing job and we thank them for their support with the passing of our father.
