History of Nolan’s Interstate Transport

In the early part of the 1900’s D.M. & M.T. Nolan Interstate Transport was originally owned and operated by Mr Robert Hawck. The mode of transport in this era was a horse drawn cart. George Hawck who was Robert’s son, returned from the disasters of the 1st World War. George started working along side his father, helping him transport such products as cream, wood and milk, which were distributed over the whole of the Lockyer Valley Region. Their task was not made easy, with only a horse and cart having to battle through harsh climatic conditions, however the company retained it’s clientele and respect within the community.

For reasons of sickness and age, George eventually saw it fit to retire at age 70. With the knowledge and skills that Mick had acquired over their years of partnership together, Mick accepted the business responsibilities from his father-in-law.
