Nolan’s Interstate Transport believes that preservation of the cold chain is the most important issue facing the fresh produce industry.  Temperature and cold chain management is critical in today’s market place, not only does cold storage maximise the dollar value of your return, it also allows the product to have a longer shelf life, which in the end is more beneficial to the consumer.

Early in 1997 Nolan’s introduced the concept of “fast cooling” with high humidity rooms and total capacity of 288 pallet spaces of product. This has enabled clients products to arrive at the end destination chilled ready for distribution to the various fresh fruit and vegetable markets throughout Australia. Due to client demands in 1998 an additional pre cooling plant was opened, with an extra 288 pallet spaces available for use.  Today, Nolan’s Transport has a total cold storage pallet capacity of 2748 for which a breakdown of each individual location is shown below.

Easy loading of the product was taken into consideration when the cold storage rooms were being built, with large electronic lowering docks which allow the product to be promptly loaded directly out of the cold storage environment, thus minimising product damage and possible contamination problems.

Nolan’s Transport provides extensive quality control in their warehouses, including full stock rotation services, temperature recording and satellite tracking.  In the near future we are looking at upgrading so that we can provide tracing over the internet.
Management and staff are proud of the fact that we are chain of responsibility compliant and we ensure that our premises are maintained to a suitable standard of hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

We are only too happy to provide you with any further information regarding our warehouse facilities, should it be required.  To find out more simply contact our Cold Stores Department on (07) 5466 2866.
